Georgia State Heifer Show - February 24, 2006

Georgia Junior Hereford exhibitors brought 77 head of Hereford Heifers together for the 2006 Georgia National Livestock Show at Perry, Georgia this past February. Judge Matt Leo, of California, earned his money as he sorted 8 big classes to find Morgan Dinsmore’s January heifer as his Grand Champion, and named her Reserve Champion with her March heifer. In the Hereford Steer Show, with 13 entries, Judge Matt Claeys, of Indiana, named Daniel Griffin Grand Champion, and Ben Duncan was named Reserve Champion. Daniel and Ben also stood Grand and Reserve in the Purebred Hereford Steer Show. It was held Saturday night with Judge Kip Williams, and had 10 entries.
The Georgia National Junior Livestock Show was just plain great this year, good weather, everybody turned out, we had a super time all weekend. In the Heifer Show, placings were:

Class 1 - Morgan Dinsmore 1st, Trina Parks 2nd, Karen Roberts 3rd, Hannah Roberts 4th, Shelly Patton 5th, Haley Kiser 6th, Michael Hancock 7th, Ryan Bussell 8th, and Ryan Bussell 9th.

Class 2 - Trista Wills 1st, Derek Pollard 2nd, Amanda Pope 3rd, Savannah Roberts 4th, Shelly Patton 5th, and Amanda Roberts 6th.

Class 3 - Morgan Dinsmore 1st, Savannah Roberts 2nd, Thomas Allen Bryan 3rd, Patrick Penland 4th, Kari Dylong 5th, Kim Pope 6th, Vennie Todd 7th, Haley Kiser 8th, Mary Porter 9th.

Class 4 - Joe Banford 1st, Karen Roberts 2nd, Krissi McCurdy 3rd, Kari Dylong 4th, Mary Porter 5th, Cynthia Hoover 6th, Floyd Ellis 7th, Jessica Martin 8th, Stephen Roberts 9th, Tyler Turnquist 10th, Ryan Bussell 11th, Mindi Deas 12th, and Tyler Smith 13th.

Class 5 - Krissi McCurdy 1st, Trina Parks 2nd, Matthew McKinney 3rd, Bradley Hoover 4th, Brett Brinson 5th, Josh Robinson 6th, Amanda Pope 7th, Clint Hall 8th.

Class 6 - Krissi McCurdy 1st, Cody McFarland 2nd, Jared Scott 3rd, Charlie Turk 4th, Kelly Brown 5th, Joshua Heidt 6th, Kim Pope 7th, Kyle Blackerby 8th.

Class 7 - Kallie Johnson 1st, Shelly Patton 2nd, Morgan Dinsmore 3rd, William Garrard 4th, Mindi Deas 5th, Charlie Turk 6th, Zach Pritchett 7th, Melissa Jones 8th, Travis McArthur 9th, Kelsey Waters 10th, Matt Davis 11th, Cody Sandefur 12th.

Class 8 - Cody Anderson 1st, A.C. Talton 2nd, Kristen Berryman 3rd, Jason Segars 4th, Nadine Loitz 5th, Andy Bishop 6th, Jordan Anderson 7th, Cheyenne Frady 8th, Hannah Findley 9th.

Grand Champion Heifer was Morgan Dinsmore with her 2005 January heifer. The Reserve Champion Heifer was also Morgan Dinsmore, with her 2005 March heifer. Super job!!!
