Not just Herefords, but quality Herefords. That is the goal of Taylor Neighbors of J. Taylor Neighbors Herefords. Located about two miles east of Americus, Georgia on Hwy. 27, you will find Herefords grazing the rolling hills of Bermuda grass pastures.

The Neighbors family consists of Taylor, wife Linah, sons Mark (32) and Jamie (24), and daughter Amanda (18), who will attend the University of Georgia this fall.
Taylor grew up on a livestock and produce farm outside of Dunn, North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina then went to work for his father’s trucking company hauling produce.
In 1980 he purchased his first Herefords from J. C. Powell. Mr. Powell was a true performance breeder. In 1982 Roy Lee Smith offered Taylor a job as a produce broker in Americus, Georgia. Having sold his Herefords when he moved, Taylor kept making plans to re-enter the Hereford business. After a few years of having crossbred cattle, Taylor decided in August of 1999 that it was time. The foundation was laid when he attended the Fantastic Female Sale. He purchased cattle that day from Holly Creek, Seven Oaks and Mauldin Farms. Over the next few years females would be added from Mead, CES, White Columns and Dexter Douglas herds. These Victor-Line One Domino females are mated to TOF Beau Victor F2 71K and PRF Victor P88 H829. The herd now numbers around twenty brood cows, with plans to increase to forty.
I left Americus that day knowing that Taylor is on his way to having a quality herd of Herefords.
